They didnt want him !

There are two Veterinary surgeries in nearby Liskeard , we use the smaller of the two . The larger one posted this a couple of days ago on their FB page . I e mailed them as Reubs is already on the Pet Bloodbank register but they dont have regular donor sessions near to us . He fits all the criteria , I did explain that he is registered with the other Vet, but they have rejected him because of that , cant need blood so damned urgently then ? Never mind my lovely , its their loss xx

It seems a bit strange if they advertised on FB, they must have known that clients from the other practice would be likely to apply.
Maybe it is unprofessional for them to accept you from another practice
Yes, but the national Pet Blood Bank takes them from wherever their regular practice is situated, so it does seem odd to me. I have registered Cassie but it's unlikely she'll get to do it as we are upwards of 35 miles from the nearest venue.

This is exactly what I thought @Selina27 , Reubs is also registered with Pet Blood Bank but like you, its doubtful they can use him due to no venue anywhere near , and no discrimination as to where they are registered . I do know that there has been a rivalry between the two practices , a few fallings out , but surely this should never ever affect the dogs who may need blood urgently x

The Pet Blood Bank does say energetic dogs welcome :)
It is such an awful shame . Reuben always greets the nurses and Vets with his usual enthusiasm but then when he is being examined/treated , he sits good as gold . During lockdown number one , I had to take him because he split a nail right down and had to hand him over in the car park . When the Vet brought him back out , she said he had been brilliant , never flinched and just sat still , so yes, its an awful shame x
