Things to do list

I wanted Reuben to be well socialised around other dogs , tick
I wanted him to be comfortable around people we meet on walks, tick
I wanted a good recall , tick 90% !
Now to start on other things as I realise he hasn't yet gone out into town around a lot of people . We have walked round our village , he is used to tractors and the like but hasn't yet experienced crowds .
I must also start leaving him more , at home with Nelly . Its far too easy when retired, to include them in everything , incorporate walks with shopping trips where I do the deed and Paul stays in the car with them .
Beaches , he is fine but we haven't yet gone to a crowded one , and may avoid for the time being !
Its a fine line , not wanting to saturate him with too much at once and not doing enough , must crack on !

Sounds like a sensible list Kate. I’d particularly start on getting him used to being home alone, there may well be times that will be necessary and better he knows it’s fine than it being stressful for you and him if you suddenly have to go somewhere where the dogs can’t accompany you.

You`re right Karen , I have been paranoid since the garlic episode , we have left him once since then when he reached a box of Weetabix and had a late breakfast ! But , we haven't left him anywhere near enough , so it starts today x

I love crossing things of lists, it is very satisfying.

Keep up the good work, you don't have time to sit around writing lists!

He is six months x

I seem to remember Joy hadn't been left much at six months but it didn't cause any problems and she's fine being left now, so I wouldn't worry too much.
