So, the kennels that we have brought Aspen to for some overnight stays as well as his obedience school has been posting about a dog named Toby who needs a new home. He is a 7 year old Newfie/Lab/Collie mix and needs a new family because his owner has been put into a home for the elderly so he can't take care of him anymore. He seems like he'd be a gentle dog, but we haven't met yet so I can't say for sure. Newfies always seemed like such a great breed to me but we went with a smaller size breed for our first dog to try and avoid some of those big dog health complications!
I wish that we could adopt him but we are still working on Aspen's training. They said he would be fine in a home with a younger puppy but I don't think it's the right time for us. I really wish we could bring him home but like I said, we already have Aspen and often have two or more extra dogs at our home because we dog-sit for our sisters a lot. Here are some pics to show why I have fallen in love. I haven't met him, so maybe if I did, I might see that he is not a great match for Aspen but who wouldn't love to have a big, pretty boy like him?!
