Travel sickness meds

Has anyone got any experience of travel sickness meds for their dogs? When we go on long trips (30 mins plus), Ginny will invariably vomit in the car. She doesn’t show any signs of emotional distress - in fact, she is more than keen to jump into the car at any opportunity without prompting (just tonight, the tailgate was open because we’d been unloading some groceries and as I walked past with all the dogs to go walking, G jumped in and laid down!) - but during transit she starts to drool then up-chucks. Again, no signs of emotional distress, so I do believe it’s just motion sickness, but I’d rather her not feel grotty those times we do have to travel.

Would ginger be worth exploring? It seems to be recommended by some vets (Ginger) and it seems to work for humans.

At least she doesn't seem to mind but it can't be very nice for YOU. I've had a couple fosters who got car sick but never tried any meds, so no advice. If anyone can research her way to a solution, it's you.

My friend's dog has it (Working Cocker Spaniel) and she gives her a tiny ginger snap and let's her sit at the front of the car. She is convinced that because she sees more at the front she can focus on the horizon which helps with the motion sickness. She has a front seat extender cushion at the front so she can lie down.
Not sure I would like my dog to travel in the front seat but that is because my dog is an idiot......
I guess Ginny likes to be part of the gang though in the back?

Ginny would be happy anywhere, with or without the gang
Coming back from physio, we let her sit on the back seat - dangerous but she wasn't poorly as she was on the way there. I'm sure there's more vibration in the very back. The problem is, I can't put her in a harness on the back seat because of her missing leg - it wouldn't be safe. So I really am restricted to her travelling illegally/dangerously on the back seat, or behind the dog guard.

I'll try her with ginger and see if has any effect. She does like a ginger biscuit

We were talking about this issue this morning. One pup's motion sickness (cocker spaniel) is helped if the window is down and he can sit up with head in wind (which you said won't work with Ginny). Another neighbour has a lab mix that has gotten extreme motion sickness since a puppy - they have meds for long road trips but otherwise avoid bringing in him the car (poor guy). I'll ask what meds they use.

Thanks so much! She's totally fine when we take her on little outings to the river, cafes etc; it's just when we go longer distances that she eventually gets sick, poor monkey. We have thick memory foam beds in the back to minimise any vibrations, but it's obviously not enough. I will try attaching a fan to the back somehow; it doesn't get hot in there, but the airflow might help.
