Turmeric ?

Has anyone had success with giving it to their dog please ?
Nelly has numerous health issues , her back end joints are dreadful . She had extensive Xrays about four years ago , results were sent to an ortho Vet for his opinion which was that he wouldnt know where to start  She has bad knees and hops on both sides , her left leg being the worst but it was decided after much discussion with our Vet that management was the better option especially given her CM . We keep metacam in for her but she rarely needs it and has done very well on YuMove so far . Just recently , her knee has slipped out , we know how to slip it back in with very gentle manipulation and massage , sounds horrendous but it isnt and it does not cause pain at this stage , she then scampers off like a spring chicken . I`ve been reading about turmeric , either as a paste or tablets and wondered if anyone has tried it and what the result was ? Thank you xx

Lilly gets Golden Paste and has done since we stopped her NSAIDs and steroids.
I buy it online direct from The Golden Paste Company.
She was a bit funny with it at the beginning but scoffs it now. We disguise her paracetamol in it.
I think it made a difference when we started it. She gets YouMove Plus too.

I was thinking more of an anti inflam so that I could maybe not rely on metacam , until the other day her kneecap hasnt slipped out for a very long time and fingers crossed it will stay put x

I make turmeric paste for Snowie. He gets about a teaspoon every day. I make up a monthly batch of mush with everything in it—joint powder, greens, sweet potato, crushed pumpkin seeds, supplements, turmeric paste, etc.

It’s very easy to make the paste, but it goes off quickly. So I keep a few days worth in the fridge and the rest I freeze. I take it myself, too, and definitely feel a difference in my own joints.

One side effect though… Nelly might smell of cat wee!! Snowie does! Such an odd thing!

@M.F. he has a teaspoon in the morning and at night. It used to be one but after his bad flare up this month, he has one small teaspoon with both his meals now. I also make the paste in one batch and keep one for a few days and the rest I freeze in small containers. I also add the paste to my smoothie to help my knee. No cat wee smells(Hunter!) but I have discovered that if mix broccoli with his food (Raw) his bum smells much better. Not of roses of course!
