Made rhubarb gin AND sloe gin for the last couple of years but THERE WERE NO SLOES LEFT when I went looking last autumn

Oh no! I’m hoping this year will be good for sloes, lots of sun and now plenty of rain. We’ve got damsons on our new tree (whoop!) so thinking of making a little bottle of damson gin.

We have nice big fat sloes already! Can't remember the best time to pick them though?

Oh hurrah!! That’s excellent news. The best time in theory is after the first frost- but in practice that’s often a bit late down here, so I reckon when they’re looking good and plump in a few weeks.

I have to buy sloes from eBay when I come over in the winter. I planted fifteen tiny saplings last year but only two have made it and I think it’ll be about a decade before I’ll be getting my first crop

Here is Quinn sporting her new tartan collar with her “made in the UK” treats ??Apparently the bonio box was too big so we will be getting additional treats in the mail ?
