Undigested Food

Twice in the last 2/3 weeks Hattie has vomited her breakfast 4 hours after she has eaten it. It is undigested. I have inspected it and nothing odd in it that I can see. Is this something I should be worried about? She is absolutely her normal self, eating, walking, playing, sleeping. Thank you. xxx

Maisy will bring up bile occasionally in the morning, usually with grass mixed in but not food.

Has Hattie been fed before her walk, as the exercise after breakfast could cause this.

We had this with one of the dogs at work - he was always being sick overnight (undigested), and well over 4 hours after eating.
Our vet who is up regularly had a check and said nothing obvious so it must’ve been reflux. He told us to give him something bland right before we leave at 9 (chicken/rice, yoghurt, rice pudding, etc.) and we did that for a week and no issues. He now gets adult biscuit mixed with some chicken and rice and that seems to have solved the issue.
Why don’t you try giving her something bland half an hour or so after her breakfast? May or may not help x

Has she done this before Helen?
Yes once about 2/3 weeks ago. x

She was fed 4 hours before our walk on both occasions. x

She is fed on kibble so do you think maybe a couple of gravy bones something like that? x

We give Finn always something before going to sleep and at midday a carrot.

I am changing Finn’s food and last weekend he gave up bile. We gave the same amount, but one food was less calories and nutritional then the other. So he was underfed..Now i give him more and hasn’t given bile anymore. Have you made changes to his food? Or did the manufacturer changed it?

Hmm. Axel did this off and on for a very long time. Only stopped after he had a scope done and nothing was found, obviously 🙄. It was suspected that either he was eating too much at one go or acid reflux, maybe a combination of them both? He used to burp quite a lot when the episodes were happening. I cut his meals down to 3 meals a day and it hasn’t happened since. I had found it so strange because he was eating less food as an adult but yet had to have smaller meals 3 times a day versus when he was a puppy and having 2 large meals a day.
