What a good lad, guard dog Reubs !

Our bungalow is tucked away in a corner with a fair sized garden , we have a side gate which is kept locked from the inside . Last night , there was the sound of someone trying the gate , but just before we heard it , Reuben growled , hair standing up and then he barked as the gate was tried . He was unsettled for hours afterwards , not a continual bark but a low grumpy growl , bless him . Our neighbour who`s garden adjoins ours at the bottom , said that her dog started to bark just prior to us hearing the gate rattle , so I decided to report it via e mail to the Police . Seems a bit of a fuss really but I guess they need to know whats going on in this rural area , it did worry us a little x

How unsettling Kate. Nothing like a dog bark to make a would be burglar head for the hills. Good boy Reuben. We were burgled just after we moved into our house in Hampshire, Grace was a newborn. Great timing. The detective asked if we had any alarms, no we didn't so he said "get a dog" xx

I wonder how they know to guard us and the house? It's not something we teach them. In any other situation Maxx is desperate to meet and be friends with every human he sees.
