When things are different

What creatures of habit these dogs can be ! When Anna brought Reuben back today , she told me that her field has two secure gated entrances , one being the main one but is like a mud bath around the gate so today, she parked her dog van by the other less muddy gate . Guess who wasnt too keen on going through the " strange " gate ? Yep , Reuben but he wasnt alone in his caution of this monster gate , one other dog was also suspicious and it was another Labrador

Yes, over lunch today Mags and I were discussing just this, how our dogs like routine and dislike anything unpredictable. Don't know if it particularly aplies

No because they love to be touched and show their enthusiasm and need for and giving affection. They just love their routines ๐Ÿ˜Š

(This is of course a massive generalisation. Not all people with autism follow these traits. Autism has a very broad spectrum)

Apparently, if anything, dogs share a genetic similarity with people with Williams syndrome. And one of the traits of people with the syndrome is hypersociability.

Chewie does also love routines. 6 nights of the week I go to bed first and OH lets him out for a wee before they both come to bed. One night OH works late from home and I go up to bed while he still works. Poor dog doesn't know if he should stay downstairs, come to bed or go sit in the office.
