Allergies

So we thought Stanley might have a potential chicken allergy and moved him onto salmon food.

He still had his bald patch so we thought it must not be the chicken but left him on the salmon food anyway.

I went to get him some food at the weekend and they only had the chicken flavour in the 6kg bags. And I couldn’t afford £75 for a 12kg bag. I thought it would be ok but he’s really really scratching. And I’m having flashbacks that he used to do this before the change in food.

What a nightmare. I’m going to have to go and buy him the salmon food.. so I should have just bought him the £75 bag in the first place 😭😭😭

At least you know. Meg isn't allergic but she is very sensitive to beef! Shame, because roast beef was my go-to training treats. Now she has roast chicken for basic training treats. Coco still gets his roast beef.

There are brands of food that don't contain chicken (and that do have salmon) that cost less than the very expensive one you are buying, so you could try a different brand.

We really struggled to find one that he’s ok with. All the others gave him sloppy poo’s. And I don’t want to have to go through trying loads again.

It’s not massively expensive because a 6kg bag lasts 4 weeks so it’s less than £10 a week.

It’s just while I’m on maternity the big bag was a bit out of the monthly budget.
