Simba the Downtown Dog

Yes Bruce was one of the best I've seen, it was at an Amnesty International concert at Wembley (the old/original stadium). Brilliant atmosphere and we were really close to the stage.
Bryan Adams was also amazing and U2 do a great show too.

We are spending the weekend at the condo, as we have a wedding today and a family dinner for Thanksgiving on Monday. Took Simba out for a walk to explore the route from the condo down to the river. Here he and OH are going up the long flight of stairs that lead down to the river. If I walked those stairs every day it would be good exercise!
We have to leave him for longer than I like while we are at the wedding. Hopefully he’ll cope ok. He’s used to longer times alone at home occasionally, so here’s hoping. I’ll try to post more pics from our next walk.

Trees have mostly lost their leaves now. 90B3D044-C393-405F-BF08-0894EC8659B0.jpegHeading back towards home through the park. Love the lights! Our condo is basically just behind that red building.
Simba was very restless last night. He couldn’t settle well. He kept jumping on and off the bed. I realized when I got up that OH had shut the bedroom door and left his bed in the living room, not in our bedroom. Which I can understand, as our bedroom is very small, and there’s hardly room for our bed, never mind his! But tonight I think we’ll leave the door open and see how that goes.

OH I loved both of them!! Bryan Adams was the first concert I’d been to where it was just a single person. I normally go and see (boy)bands. WESTLIFE was my absolute favourite concert. I have been a fan of theirs for years but they split up before I was really into concerts so didn’t get a chance to see them then. I did however get to see them on their reunion tour in June! BEST. CONCERT. EVER. I was so emotional :wasntme:

I also must add that my first concert was One Direction in 2013 :giggl: and I saw them a total of 5 times before they split!

Yes, Edmonton
My husband’s best friend as a boy is a doctor in Edmonton. His wife was telling me she takes their dog running along the river. Now I have a visual! I had no clue of what it looks like. I’ve only heard of your ginormous indoor shopping center/ski field!

@Lisa thank you for the photos of Simba and your explorations. That area around your new condo looks really nice for a dog (and humans).I find it so interesting to see all the very different environments the forum dogs live in.

On the concerts thing, I've never been an Elton fan though I've loved some of his songs and thought he was great on the Muppet Show as a kid. However I watched Rocket Man on the plane (twice!) and really gained a new appreciation for him and his music.

@Sophiedoodle you were a One Direction fan like I was a Prince fan. Saw him EVERY time I could, starting with the Purple Rain tour. Still my best concerts ever. My other faves were Peter Gabriel and Johnny Clegg. @M.F. may be the only other person here who remembers Johnny Clegg, but he and and his band were amazing. I can still sing along to Zulu lyrics that I have no idea what they mean.

OK, now I feel old. :wasntme:

Oh the difference in generations is never so obvious.

I do have bit of a norty secret though, I have a One Direction hit on my ipod, don't go telling anyone.
I only liked it because I saw the Piano Guys doing it on tv and it just stuck with me.

I saw The Beatles playing in the Cavern Club when I was 15ish , magic night it was too ! My best friend at the time had a gay brother who , in that era could not go out publicly with his boy friend so , as both men were very wealthy , they used to take me and Celia out with them as a foursome , how sad was that, but we did get to see some fantastic venues and entertainment as reward for our cover ! xxx

Remember? REMEMBER???? Oh my word, he’s a legend. It was an incredibly sad day on 16 July this year, here in SA, when he died. Too soon. He had this incredible ability to unite people, and that is something we so desperately need in South Africa.

I saw him several times in concert, first as a teenager in the 80s. Such a fun concert!! His lyrics are exquisite. Although I also need translation cos I don’t understand Zulu either!!

The shopping mall has an indoor amusement park, swimming (wave) pool, and skating rink but no skiing :cheeky:
