I'm booked for 2 days of the course and now need to book some accommodation too. I'd been planning on staying with my sister but she now has her daughter and three grandchildren living with her so I'll have to make other plans. Failing all else I'll book in at the Travelodge at Podimore, as I've stayed there twice this year for Rally competitions. But I think I'll have a look for a small rental property first.
Hoorah! I looked at this one when we were first mulling it - might be worth a look? Home - The Kings Arms

I've booked a cottage (barn conversion) in Merriott, the village where I grew up, for 4 nights so that I can spend some time with my sister as well as the two days training. I'm really looking forward to it - though I'm not sure Molly will concentrate on heelwork for a whole day.
@Natalie I hope there are some vacant slots on the training days that you can book.

I think I need to have a chat with them about what would be realistic for monty, the sessions are quite long and he's very much a beginner with a low attention span. Also need to chat OH up .... we could visit the Fleet Air Arm in Yeolviton which was fab when we wenr 10 years back. But also to see if he'd look after Monts in the downtime and let me catch up with MLF peeps....

Also there’s the Tank Museum at Bovington which is about an hour away, you get to dress up as all sorts of tank commanders!! (OH maintains this was for children, but if the cap fits - literally - then pfft).

Oh yes we've been there, that's a proper serious place from memory, artillery packed to the rafters - full on private collection intensity 😁😁😁 but well off the braten track i think, down miles of country lanes?

Perfectly phrased
I think it’s on an A road, but definitely a bit off the beaten track. I think the artillery shells were particularly mindblowing - the size of those things...

I’m pretty sure they do, maybe 2? And the original ‘mother’ Mk1 or something v similar.
I think we came to it via an odd sat nav inspired 'shortest ' route, following lots of home made bullet-holed signs.
OH was desperate to buy something shooty. The stuff was all jammed in, they had enough to fill another building easily.. he'd love to go again.
