Rest in peace Dexter

Some of you may remember Donna , she used to be an active member of the other forum as Newlabmum , she did join here but I cannot find her, I think her member name was Shortie ?
I had a sad phone call last night to say that Dexter had died of cancer, he was four years old . This was thankfully a very short illness, he became unwell just days before his diagnosis of cancer of the lungs, spleen and liver , almost unbelievable in such a fit looking young fox red Lab that he was . My happy memory of him is when they visited from Essex and Sam taught him the joys of water at Golitha Falls , rest easy dear boy xxx

I will pass on all your lovely messages as Donna and I do keep in touch from time to time , I`m sure she will be very touched to know how many are thinking of her .
It has all been a massive shock , as they only requested a Vet appointment when Dexter refused to eat and began to pant heavily, suspected blockage . Xrays showed the extent of the cancers , just showing how stoic our dogs are , poor lad, far too young to leave this earth xx

So, so awful. I can’t imagine it and I am eternally grateful to the powers that be for what I so often take for granted.
