Puppy School

So Millie should be settled in her new home now ❤ Her family seemed lovely and were just SO excited to meet her and get her home! He said they’d send me an email in the next week or so to let me know how she’s settled in, so I’m hoping they send a photo too. I do miss her, but the house is bliss with one less puppy! (Sorry Millie........)

I'd be tempted to shave her face like a poodle and do a short puppy clip on the rest of her to see what she looks like under there. :wasntme:

Just out of curiosity, @Sophiedoodle , is there a reason that this seems to be the standard labradoodle cut? Poodles you can cut lots of ways (without the afficionados getting on your case), but this seems to be it for doodles.

I still remember the looks of abject horror I got when I was considering giant schnauzers and mentioned to a couple breeders that I'd just shave mine as I wasn't a fan of beards. One even said, in the same tones as if I'd suggested EATING the puppy for dinner, "But if you did THAT, why don't you just get a LABRADOR."

OK, done. :giggl:

@Emily_Babbelhund like any other breed, we have a breed standard that we follow. Like the “poodle clip”, there is also the “teddy bear clip” which is used for Australian Labradoodles. 62BECA41-3E8D-45E3-811D-938D676F2557.jpeg
This is the way I always clip them so they all look the same way.... it really bugs me when I see doodles with really fluffy ears or tails or no beards :giggl:

I would have done the same:giggl:
