What made you smile today?

I haven't had a hair cut since Jan last year. I used to go every 6 weeks but my hairdresser sadly went out of business during lock-down and I haven't bothered to find another. I've decided I quite like having longer hair and can manage to give it the occasional chop myself - £250 a year saved!
Me neither, and in similar circumstances. The hairdresser I used for 15 years packed up, and I found another local salon which I used just once at Christmas 19 but wasn't sure if she was going to become my regular hairdresser.

I've used a home dye kit about five times, and I've had people complement me on the colour, though I do like the contrast that foils give.
OH and my mum both cut it last year for me, and three weeks ago I watched a YouTube video on cutting it yourself and I chopped about three inches off and my mum just tidied up one slightly long bit. I've always cut my fringe anyway. I've got quite forgiving wavy hair so will hide any slight mistakes.

Ooh, ditto @Joy and @Natalie - I thought I was the only one! Although I’m slightly more feral, I haven’t had my hair cut since last January and it’s got quite a decent badger streak now :) I was on the cusp of changing hairdressers as I’d just discovered a curly hair specialist I had booked in with. Then pandemic, cancellations etc and I’ve not tried again (they’re a 4hr round trip which I’m not doing yet just for a hair cut). Maybe in the Spring?

We had visitors this lunchtime , my lovely niece Abi and her husband Mark who live in Berkshire , he was the man who had the heart operation in Barts London early this year . They have been in west Cornwall for a much needed holiday , calling in to see us on their way home . Mark looks fantastic especially given what he has gone through xx

I have just had the loveliest day that I've had in a long long time. First of all up on Norland Moor GGJ and I met a woman with a Spaniel puppy and walked round with them. Joy and the Spaniel playing together and obviously very comfortable with each other. The woman, whose name I failed to learn was an art teacher, working with autistic children and was so nice and interesting to talk to, and we shared views on so many things, particularly bringing up puppies. Then out to lunch with my two lovely step daughters, then Keir and Michelle, his hooman dropped in for an hour or so, then down to the pub to meet a couple of old friends, then home with my GGJ and although I know that we still have to go carefully, it has felt like the nearest thing I have had to a normal weekend day for ages! I have had proper conversations with SIX people today! I have so much missed this, that just used to be normal life! Let's hope it lasts.:fingers:

So pleased you had such a happy and perfect day. Mine was the opposite, first time I have felt lonely, though I did bump into a strange girl, unfortunately her one rescued dog fought Rourke but her Collie was fine, so we had limited walk.
