Maxx has laryngitis

Maxx has come home from the kennels with a croaky bark. He would have been barking constantly for three weeks so it's not that surprising. The vet said it should return to normal in about a week, otherwise bring him in

Has anyone experienced this before? Poor boy sounds like a chihuahua! Otherwise he is his usual happy, playful, energetic, naughty, hungry self

Sorry, not experienced this - was concerned Red might come home from the kennels barking but fortunately not. Didn’t @David have a problem with Poppy after a few nights in kennels - think it righted itself quickly?
Yes that's correct. I thought something awful had happened to her. Her bark had become a squeak. It was all back to normal in a couple of days but I won't be using that kennel again because she doesn't normally bark so something was upsetting her and I think there's a risk of creating a barking dog.

Hope Max recovers soon. If that's what it was I'm sure he'll be better in a day or so,

Poor little man, hope he gets better very quickly, he looks happy enough. There were two boarding kennels here, one the staff had to wear ear defenders because the dogs barked all the time, the other kennels, no barking! I asked the second kennel how he achieved quiet and he said that each new dog that came in, he would sit with it in the kennel until it felt relaxed.

Oh, Maxx! So funny, that was such a good laugh! Like something out of Up as @Lisa mentioned.

I guess his throat is a bit sore? Some people let their dog lick honey off the back of a spoon to soothe the throat.

He has honey and warm water 4 times per day. His big boy bark is slowly coming back. A neighbour rang the doorbell today and he raced down with a raspy alert bark and the neighbour said 'your doorbell is working but just a bit off!'
