Teasel Update..

Dear Teasel Weasel, or Sweet Pea is now up for adoption.

I am not feeling particularly great about it. Teasel was a last minute.. really last minute foster. For 24 hours only. Well that was nearly 3 months ago.

She fits in so well with the gang, but she is so sensitive, and very bonded with me, in a quiet, trusting sort of way.

I don't @Mr Beanwood agrees though...:'( . I worry though she is very bonded to me. If it was just the original 24 hours it would have been different I am really worried that no matter how wonderful her new home is, will she cope with the separation? Most of my fosters have bounced merrily towards their new owner, Teasel is going to be terrified. I don't we are necessarily the best home, for sure everything is a bit hectic right now, so maybe I am not looking at this objectively?

That is such a tough decision. The only thing I would offer is to say don't let anyone at BRX bully you into adopting her out until YOU are ready. She is young and happy where she is at, giving both of you more time to make up your minds (if that time can add clarity) will not affect her eventual chances at adoption if you decide that adopting her out is best for everyone.

You are clearly feeling very conflicted - if it would help you, ask BRX to follow up that post with another saying they are putting her adoption on hold for the moment. End of. You have put the work into Teasel and ultimately saved her regardless of your final decision, and you've earned the right to ask for a pause on the adoption search, if you want/need it.

Just from what you've said here on the forum, my impression is that Teasel has already found her forever home. ❤ However if that's not what you decide, then I know that's also the best decision.

Sending lots of hugs.

Teasel is still with us... it is tough out there, so many dogs needing homes, and most rescue organisations are bursting at the seams!

I don't really mind. It has put a few things on the back burner that I was meant to be getting on with, but hey ho!

This is Teasel and Benson a few days ago. Just loving a long walk at Badminton!

This is a tough one, for sure. Perhaps in a couple months she will be a little more confident and resilient, which will make it easier all around to contemplate adopting her out, if that is the ultimate decision.

She and Benson are having such a great time! And Benson looks wonderful too. :inlove:

I'm glad you have more time with her - as others have said, maybe that will help with the ultimate decision, whatever that may be.
I think you are right. We are both a bit frazzled and tired from a very busy few months. Teasel is fairly easy to manage now, in terms of not needing to be up so much in the night. For the first 6 weeks one of us had to sleep downstairs with the both of them, and then again when her mum went to her fabulous new home. Now she goes to bed with the gang, and is up around 6am, which isn't too bad considering! She is just brilliant with the other dogs, a bit wary of Bramble, but most dogs are, unless they are called River! :inlove:
