I can move these posts if Carbon is offended! I think his wetsuit is very fetching.
I am most certainly not offended, querida Karen. I also think that ML should join me in the icy waters, que bien! Para mi, for me, a big wave of Celtic Sea water right in the face as I chase my ball at the crack of dawn is lo mejor, the BEST.

And anyone who says that I look fetching in my wetsuit may say anything they like around here. Claro que sí!

Me four!!
One of the Ukrainian refugees our church has sponsored loves ice swimming. He was very happy to a few weeks ago when the temperature was around -10C outside and a town near here was having a Winter Fun Day featuring people jumping into water (hole cut in ice so they could do it). He loved it. I think he’s nuts!!

Pues, mis amigos, THIS arrived at our house today:

Si, that is a Cornish seagull standing on a post covered in seagull poo, holding a pasty. And ML says that I, a Spanish gentleman with impeccable taste, am weird? Vale, vale, she usually says that when I am enjoying a little tapas of my own poo and deleeecious Cornish grass, but still…

As you Eeeenglish say, she has lost the plot.

Sammy Sloth agrees with me.

Hey Carbon, is that the one that nicked my Gooseberry Yoghurt Ice-cream?
I am quite sure it is one and the same! The drawing is missing the maniacal look in his beady little eyes, but I will remember it forever. SWOOP! And then your poor little ice cream was gone forever. Dios mio! I was really hoping for a bite of the cone for myself, sabes?

ML still admires that you did not get angry at all, just headed back into the shop and calmly bought another. She would have stomped around and made a mad face the rest of the day, no doubt! But you did not let it ruin your day, just happily enjoyed your second (ahem...first) cone while we guarded your back from The Dastardly Goosebury Ice Cream Thief!

@Emily_Babbelhund, just caught the end of a programme with Cornwall in it, made me yearn to visit the place again and can quite see why you choose to stay there for an extended time.
We consider ourselves to be very fortunate to live in our county , we are just a few minutes from Golitha Falls and the moors beyond but also ten/fifteen minutes from the south coast and 30 minutes to the north coast where Emily stays . There are disadvantages , shortage of major supermarkets plus only one major hospital covering all of Cornwall of Derriford hospital in Plymouth but all things considered , its a good place to live xx

It really is amazing. Everyone's 'best of' is going to be subjective, but for me, Cornwall just pushes so many of my buttons. I loved Ireland for years and still do, but Cornwall's beauty definitely rivals it (neither is better, they are just different while still being very similar) with the advantage that Cornwall's scale is much smaller and the Coastal Path makes these beautiful places very accessible. And though I've never been here in summer, when I assume the weather is better, I actually really love the weather here because it changes all the time. As long as you have a nice little bolthole - and time - to ride out the rain, you're likely to see the sun again not too long in the distant future. 😊
