Maxx has been shaking his head a lot over the last couple of days and also scratching and pawing at his ears. We cleaned his ears and there wasn't much wax/dirt in there. We rang the vet and he said it might be an ear infection :(. We've made an appointment for 3.30pm today.

He has a yeast infection so we have to apply drops twice a day, massage well and then clean the ears.

He behaved APPALLINGLY. He just loves nurse Carolyn and barked leapt and jumped and managed to get a lick right on her mouth when she came over to give him some treats. She wasn't impressed

Oh and he weights...wait for it....43.4 kilos! The vet said he isn't overweight as he still has contour but he could lose a couple of kilos. He recommended the light version of the food we are using.

Good luck at the vets today, hope it’s a simple fix. And 43 kg??! That’s impressive, you’ve got a little pony there!

Yep....that's what we get for picking the big boy from the litter. He was bucking and pulling today to get into the vets and I had him because OH has a crook back but I couldn't hold him so I had to hand him over. Inside I could get him into a LAT but it would last for about 22 seconds - until nurse Carolyn moved or even twitched behind the desk. Not good. He was pretty good for the vet but didn't like having his ears probed and then started backing away from him.

Well done for getting through it though - sounds like everything got looked at that needed looking at which is the main thing. Have you got ear drops?

Poor Maxx, hope his ears clear up soon, sounds like you caught it really early which will, I only know because Casper is prone to them.

But.....43kg! Wowzers...and he is not quite a year old.. almost though...;)
