Kipper’s come on leaps and bounds today, I think letting him set the pace is key.
Awful photo but this is him choosing to settle in his usual place under the kitchen table with Stilton close by in his pen. We’ve created an ‘all clear’ cue to tell Kipper that Stilton’s secure in his pen and he can come into the kitchen without interference. And Stilton continues to be fabulous, mainly just watching Kipper and occasional squeaking to say hello.

I do admire the way you're managing this, respecting Kipper's space and his feelings, you've clearly thought it all through very thoroughly and are setting it up to succeed. I love the idea of the 'All clear' cue and should I ever take the decision to welcome a pup to come and join GGJ and me ( don't get excited everyone, no such plans currently!) I will certainly be taking a leaf out of your book.

Stilton and his littermates are all excellent feeders, but it’s no surprise that since leaving home most have been eating less - Stilton was consistently leaving ~40% off his kibble. This morning I mixed a v weak chicken stock and soaked his kibble in that for a minute, and he’s gobbled it down. Another classic I learned on this magical forum!

Have you tried bone broth? I buy it frozen and defrost when I need it. It's good for encouraging appetite and helps digestive issues . I use it for Rory it's does help him. It's supposed to help irritated tummies relax and calm down.
It's good to use in hot weather too

I made it in the past when Kipper was smol, but it was quite a greasy business. Good suggestion on the frozen stuff 👍

This puppy is just fabulous. It’s hammering down with rain at 2am, but he popped outside, did a quick wee and within 5 minutes is asleep again. No illusions it’ll always be like this, but celebrate the wins!View attachment 37416
What a good boy, Stilton. ❤ And he's back to looking tiny in that photo, any question of moose heritage erased!
