The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Thanks for the kind words @Jacqui-S and @Jelinga . These are very much 'first world problems' (the world's tiniest violin can be heard in the background 😉) but I am kind of at the end of my rope.

I've just paid (again) for seat reservations on Austrian rail, so if the trains run, we may actually have seats. If no trains run, I've spent 20 bucks in worse ways in my life. The German rail site says the Austrian train will run, however the Austrian rail site says it won't. The part in dispute seems to be if anything will leave from Regensburg. So on the good side, if there's no train at the station tomorrow morning, at least I'm 'stranded' here in Regensburg with my wonderful little car to take me to a wide variety of hotel choices. If I do get on the train, then the question is can I make that super tight connection in Nowhereville, Austria?

I guess the bright side is that I'm not bored? 😂😂😂

I really hope it all goes smoothly for you Emily and Carbón. Those tight connections (and six minutes is definitely pretty tight) are always a bit of a worry for me too. Having said that I can feel my Wanderlust re-kindling, but No,No,No! GGJ and I have promised ourselves no more long journeys until Spring!
Thinking of you both today and wishing you a safe and pleasant journey. xxx

Be strong , Candy! 😂

To be honest, I was feeling ready to pack it in yesterday , and by that I mean just drive down to Venice and scupper any other plans for Italian cities. Doing a tour of the countryside in my comfy car was sounding very attractive indeed ! But I had a good sleep last night and felt much more Amazonian (@HAH 😉 ) this morning and thought , why not give it a go ? So far, so good! 🤞

Wonderful you are on a train Emily, I had thought of you this morning huddled outside a ticket office in the cold, so happy and relieved you are on a train.
Oh no, no worries there. I was in a nice hotel last night and had arranged to stay the day at my friend’s apartment if the train hadn’t shown. Plus it’s an absolutely glorious sunny day, so no huddling needed in any case.

I did a lot of miserable huddling in my younger days but count one of the plus points of being older that now I’m more willing to solve problems with judicious use of a credit card. 😂
