How to remove vomit stain from fawn carpet?

Flicka ate something while we were out walking and vomited it up later in the evening, in the middle of the living room carpet! It has left a large stain! I have used carpet cleaner and also a product you can buy for puppies pees and poos while housetraining. Neither have worked, anyone any other ideas? Flicka was quite poorly and had diarrhoea overnight, but I put her straight onto the biome food and that did the trick.

Poor Flicka - glad she’s feeling a bit better now it’s out of her system. I’ve always used Simple Solution but I think that’s what you’ve already tried. Sometimes a couple of applications are indicated in my experience…

Thank you, I will try that solution again, did use it twice on Friday, but perhaps it might do good after a rest.

I am an expert in giant poo stains on a beige carpet (also vomit, though not for a few years, touch wood) - on hands and knees with Xanto Zazzoosh spray can, scrubbing from the outside of the stain to the middle (sometimes take a couple of goes) or a Bissell carpet cleaning machine (OH's pride & "joy") with Bissell Pet Stain & Odour solution or Simple Solution Extreme Carpet Shampoo.

I hope Flika is OK now. Meg's diarrhoea is unpredictable. This morning, for example, she did a beautiful, solid poo on her walk. Came home and had an episode of diarrhoea in the garden - if I'd have gone out after walking them, she probably would have done that in the house (though I do confess to leaving the back door open for her very often....)

Washing powder is my go to for everything!

Mix with warm water and scrubbing brush. It even got nail varnish and hair dye off my carpet x
Ooh, I'll try this. Still have an Ella vomit in the carpet after numerous attempts to clean.

I'm with @Jen
If a baby wipe doesn't work.
Haha yes, baby wipes are so useful! My kids haven't been in nappies for years but we still always have a pack of wipes in the house!

Remove Solids: Scrape or scoop up as much solid waste as possible using a disposable spoon or a moist paper towel, and dispose of it

  • Blot with Cleaning Solution: Mix 1 tablespoon of dish soap, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and 2 cups of warm water. Use a clean cloth or sponge to gently blot the stain, working from the outside edges towards the center.
  • Absorb Excess Liquid: Blot the carpet dry with clean paper towels or cloths.
  • Treat Odors: If the odor persists, sprinkle baking soda over the stain and let it sit for several hours. Then, vacuum it up.
  • Rinse and Dry: Rinse the area with cold water and blot dry.
  • Consider Enzyme Cleaners: For stubborn stains and odors, consider using an enzyme-based cleaner designed for pet odors.
  • Air Dry: Allow the carpet to air dry completely, away from direct sunlight and heat.
