Oddy is in need of some Lambies

I’m glad he’s on the mend. What a lovely boy. ❤

Why does he have to wear both collars? I always think the blowup collar looks so uncomfortable for resting the head. Could you put a cushion under his head when he sleeps so that he doesn’t have to extend his neck over the blowup?

It isn't a blow up collar, it's a ruff which is like a cushion in itself, I am perfectly satisfied that he can get as comfortable as possible in the circumstances in which he finds himself. In fact the ruff is an aid to comfort.
I appreciate that in that photograph he looks as if he is holding his head up, but in fact it's well supported by both the ruff and a fold in the blanket underneath.
He has a vast array of beds and blankets to choose from, they are strewn everywhere in this house. He chose to be close to me on working on the laptop.
It's an absolute priority for me to protect the wound.

Aargh - this is so frustrating, I took him back to the vets on Wednesday, he definitely has a reaction to the subcutaneous sutures used on his wound. Meaning that he still has to wear the cone etc, although not the vest anymore, and I can't really let him off the lead. Which all of us - me, the other dogs and himself are itching to do . Literally in his case!
We are half way through a precautionary course of abs as it is weeping.
Barring this he is in good spirits now, barging about as only Oddyseus can ! And knocking off the cone in the process
HIs people are back on Thursday - it's not for me to divulge their circumstances or judge in anyway.

Poor Oddy. I'm sure you'll be relieved to hand over the responsibility to his owners.
It hasn't been so bad really I know they are very grateful for everything myself , my son and his OH have done , and you know, once a nurse always a nurse!
I am , however, getting more than a little tired of having the back of my knees bashed by the cone. The wearer of which lacks awareness of others personal space at the best of times :giggl:
