This is fascinating and I would imagine would be more difficult in the rain. Do they take into account the wind direction when you start off?

Rain is not so much a problem. It’s the wind that makes it difficult for them

No, there is enough scent on the ground if they can’t pick it up in the air

@Boogie maybe we have to start a special "mantrailing" section for the forum!
It is such a great activity, for so many reasons. All the above; plus the dog sets the pace (so great for dogs with dodgy joints or health concerns), and all the trainers seem to be all completely dedicated to positive training. Mags, sounds like the approach with your bunch is exactly the same as with the group I went with (except your introduction trails looked a bit longer than ours), which suggests that Mantrailing UK have got an established way of doing things that is stuck to pretty well (which is in my view a really good sign). I can't wait to go again.
