Is anyone else going to be watching 'Britain's Top 100 Dogs Live' tonight? I remember Trevor and I watching it last year, and cheering and hugging each other and little Joy when "we" won. Wine just might have been involved!

That pug story made me sad. People with pugs meeting in a cafe - pugs all dressed up. People having great fun, pugs struggling to be dogs at all, occasionally escaping for a run around. Awful.

Just seeing pugs struggling to breathe makes me sad, yet they are becoming more and more popular.

Little dogs are so cool, too...and are just as much real dogs as their bigger cousins for you let them be. As Fine the Chihuahua's human says, she is a 'off road Chihuahua' and can run as long and as hard as the big boys.

I didn't see the program, but hopefully it was just a special occasion bit of fun with the costumes and the pugs are off road pugs in their normal day to day lives.

Are you seeing more of the pug crosses in the UK? I see the crosses (with beagle and chihuahua mainly) here more than pure pug and it means they can breathe and run normally. I'm not usually a fan of crossing purebreds on purpose usually as it seems to be done to satisfy some silly fashion and does the poor dogs no good at all, but in this case when the dogs come out healthier, maybe it's not a bad thing?

It’s pugs that upset me. They have lovely little personalities, but the way they have been bred with flat faces is a disgrace to humankind in my not so humble opinion.

Exactly this x Pugs along with Frenchies are really suffering , my step son and wife have two French Bulldogs , one had an operation to widen his nares at only nine months old as he struggled to breathe , it is criminal what some breeders of Brachy dogs are doing as the original breeds looked very different and were healthy dogs x
