Need to get out more!

This is what happens when you live with a dog and nothing else as your constant companion, most of your conversations are with fellow dog owners and you spend a fair chunk of each day on forums such as this:
As I was having my post-walk cup of tea thisafternoon a takeaway menu for a recently opened Indian restaurant came through the door. Glancing at it somewhat absent mindedly, I read one of the headings as Non Breeds. On further inspection I saw that it actually said Nan Breads! Should I be worried?:$:hmm:

Non Breeds seems a very reasonable assumption right after Crufts. You're just having post-show visual snerberts. Totally normal.

But I get the dog isolation bubble effects. When you work at home, I think gets super-powered. This is why I have a hard time when faced with living, breathing people...my mouth just goes and goes and goes. Or it doesn't go at all and I just think "Conversation too hard, woof". Really can go either way.

I also tend to think - admittedly unfairly - that everyone should know a base of dog stuff. I'm asked quite often, "Is that a Lab?" I think, "Ok, if I had an Outer Mongolian Otter Herding Dog, then I'd get why you are asking. But to ask about a black Lab? What else would he be?" Once I even had a lady who asked me that question, then said, "Oh, I thought so, I have a black Lab too."

On the other hand, I can't make coffee, don't own a pair of dress shoes and can't set a table properly to save my life. So who am I to say what is 'basic knowledge'?

@Selina27 and @Shaz82 - oh hey, maybe it's not just Carbon then. I'll tell him he has good company.

I once said no, it's a Rottweiler.
Reminds me of my favorite, "I hate pit bulls" story. Many years ago I was out at the dog beach with Mama Jodhi (pit bull x) and Brogan (Rottweiler). Brogan was off a few yards away playing like a loon and older Mama Jodhi was glued to me for pets. I was talking to a stranger who had stopped to admire and pet Jodhi. The stranger looked over at Brogan - not knowing he was mine too - and said, "I just hate those pit bulls - they are so unpredictable and they really scare me." "You mean that black and tan dog there?," I asked her. She nodded. "Actually THAT one is a Rottweiler. The one you've been petting for the last five minutes is a pit bull".

She was out of there SO fast...
