Sniffspot

I’ve heard a little bit about this app recently and it sounds like a great idea that would help out lots of dog owners.
Sniffspot is a bit like Airbnb for dog walking. People who own safe places for dogs can advertise them (for free) and people can rent them by the hour for their dogs. They can be simple fenced gardens, or larger plots of land (with or without fences). The only requirements are that they are owned (or rented) by the person advertising, and that there are no hazards. If you have dogs, cats, or other animals of your own, that’s not a problem, it just goes in the ad.
There are no listings in the UK at the moment, so the chances of getting anything from it at this stage are small, but because I can imagine what an amazing resource it could be for people with reactive, fearful, or injured dogs, or people wanting to have options of neutral territory for meeting up, I think it would be great to get the ball rolling. Once there is a critical mass of people, it will encourage more and more to use it.
As for liability, all renters are required to sign a waiver and the company also has a $1M insurance cover for all owners.

I will be signing up (as the first in Spain) as soon as I get some photos together :)

Super idea - and it would be a good money making idea for my brother who has quite a bit of unused land!

There is something similar round her, there is a fenced field to hire by the hour.
Yes, there is a site for that in the UK (dogwalkingfields.co.uk) but this goes a bit further than that, in that it doesn't expect the gardens to be big, or necessarily enclosed. Just somewhere different, so dogs that can't walk much get to visit new places, or you can stop off at to quickly stretch your legs on a journey. Some of the space owners (from what I've heard) do it because they love dogs but can't manage one of their own, or just for a bit of social interaction. Others do it to give their own dog the chance to meet others. Some even have water on their property, or agility equipment etc that the visiting dogs can enjoy.

It just sounds like such a great idea for so many scenarios, and it's not just about having a fenced area for dogs without recall, or reactive dogs. The idea of it bringing dogs into lonely people's lives really speaks to me.

I just sent this to my friend to look into signing up! They have a massive country property with hiking trail and a river and are renovating to make part of their home an Air BnB, so seems right up their alley. They are also looking at getting a dog, but it's not quite time so this could ease them in.
