Oddy is in need of some Lambies

I hope Oddy feels better today. Such a worry, especially when it’s a dog in your care. What breed is he?

    Lambies for Joy please.

Snowie was the same. Together with the puppy eyes, I could never say no.

    Dew claw

Snowie split his dew claws a couple of times. They grew back just fine. I just kept them clean. And he helped by licking them, once licked the broken one clean off. Dew claw removal in puppies is now considered cruel, like tail and ear docking. Snowie used his dew claws for holding a bone or...

    Itchy dog

I was just chatting with my naturopath friend (she lives in Sydney) who gave me the idea of using oat gel. Her babies (many years ago!) had eczema and this is what she used. She also reminded me of chamomile tea. Make a very strong tea (preferably from dried whole flowers, not a teabag), then...

    Itchy dog

Glad it’s working! 💗 It encouraged me to make my own little sachet of “porridge”! Ie follow your own advice!! It sits on my kitchen counter and I rub it on every day. I have very sensitive face skin at the moment.

    Itchy dog

Something very soothing is an oat rub. You put oats into a cheesecloth bag or stocking. Soak it in hot water till it cools. Then squeeze the bag/stocking to get the oat gel and rub it into the itchy areas working well through the fur and onto the skin. It will be very gooey, but don’t worry...

    Run free Nelly

I’m so sorry. And I totally understand. I share the same guilt feelings. I guess we did so much that we always feel it was never enough. And we should have known what not to do. But we aren’t vets. And we only try our best. It’s good that you can express it all here safely. You really did more...

    Ageing joints

I read a recent report of a study (I didn’t read the actual study) that compared joint powders with golden paste. And the results were that golden paste had better outcomes for anti inflammatory and pain relief. If I can find it I’ll post it here. I make golden paste myself and I gave Snowie...

    Farewell, tiny Pongster

I’m so sorry for your loss of your darling Pongo. I am also in awe of your bravery to make sure he never knew pain and suffering. Pongo had a special place in my heart because he reminded me of my Snowie with his chunkiness and all those folds and glorious fur, and his gentle giant demeanour. I...
