    Ears back

Meg is in full agreement - don't judge the ears on a photo. She hates having her picture taken. Lovely dogs though.....

    Flicka

Maybe go back to basics with house training as if she were a puppy. She'll get there, but it must be very tiring for you xx

    Flicka

It can be a most frustrating, worrying yet exciting time when you are both learning about each other. Coming from a kennel environment is a big change, but once Flicka has learned that she is in a safe and loving home things will get easier as she picks up on the household routines. It sounds as...

    The Vets

I paid £71 for Coco' booster a couple of weeks ago, no worming or tick/flea treatment, just the vaccine (big chain-owned). We saw the same vet he saw for his ears earlier in the year. She was pleasant and chatty with Coco, approaching him nicely. I was happy with her bedside manner with Coco...

The Kennel Club - no hoomans allowed!

Went to see the Bum Lady today. She said I was Hansum an she said " 's OK Coco, I'm not taking your temperature" - I THINK I know what she meant. Stuck me a needle but I didn't feel it. Said I was in good shape. Mum, on the other hand, said my Die It has not worked. Not sure where that leaves...

    What made you smile today?

We were sitting down having a gelato in the lovely afternoon sun at a spot called Spit Corner in Peel (or Weatherglass Corner) - when a small-ish curly dog approached. It was on a long flexi lead with a young teen on the other end and her mother was close. Awww....the dog wants some ice...

    Recall

Never too late to whistle train. Coco was 16 months old when we got him & I started some time after that. Meg has never been whistle trained but she came to us aged 2 and picked up the recall whistle VERY quickly, copying Coco, in fact I'd say she was a bit better than him!

    Conversations with our dogs

Oh goodness, yes., of course we chat. The only chatter they tend to ignore is when I ask them where the other one is, they clam up then and close ranks - no snitches in this house :sealedlips:

    Recall

I used the book with Coco - up to the proofing with dog distractions I found it excellent, but I didn't have access to other dogs in controlled scenarios.

    Recall

Whistle training is a great idea. There is no emotion in the whistle, whereas there maybe frustration, annoyance, upset and anger etc. in your verbal recall when Hugo is too busy with dogs to listen to you. Neither of mine get to play with other dogs when we are out. Coco is still far too...

The Kennel Club - no hoomans allowed!

I get you Maxx. We're not allowed up either. Meg(an) Sparkle does try every day. She says - "watch this Coco, Today is The Day" and sometimes whe sneaks, one foot at a time, an sometimes she kind of lays sideways over dad and slithers up and sometimes she just jumps up (that's my preferred...
