I used to take Naproxen when my knees were really bad . My GP prescribed a gastric protecting drug alongside it and had no issues. I've not bothered taking anything for my knees for around 5 years with no significant difference To lain levels, mobility etc. :)

Try not to worry @Anne123 , it sounds much more likely to be related to the sore paw. Reduced activity is always a good idea where there is a limp or suggestion of a limp.

Juno spends time cleaning paws and checking claws as well. Her favourite cleaning job is trying to get sone sneaky licks on Belle, particularly around the ears :)
