Check up with the vet nurse today. She's very pleased with how Joy's wound is healing and said to take her back in a week to have the stitches removed. I'm hoping that normal walks might be OK again after that. Joy is as bright and lively as ever!

Lively and alert today, back to her usual nosey self, checking everything out and generally in charge!

Joy and I met an elderly man on our afternoon walk, clearly a dog lover, who produced some treats from his pocket ( of a kind that she likes) and offered them to her. She refused to take them(:shock:) so he handed them to me and she happily accepted them. GoodgirlJoy! Never take treats from...

She's doing really well, looking so much better today, more lively and quite indignant about the short walks. Her wound looks good too, clean, healthy and starting to heal already. Back to the vet on Monday for a check up.

A nice restful day for GGJ, who is much brighter than she was yesterday evening and has been busy supervising the gardening. She's leaving her wound well alone and it looks clean and healthy. All good so far.🙂

She was distinctly unimpressed with our first 15 minute walk. She was trying to pull me in the direction of the field, the woods and most of all, the river! It's likely to be a while before she can go swimming again, but I was pleased to see that she was keen to go, obviously feeling pretty...

We both slept well thanks. I'm going to give Joy her pain medication (Rimadyl) a chance to kick in, then we'll try the first walk of the day ( 10-15 minute lead walks 3-4 times a day until the stitches have been removed) and see how that goes. Then home for some breakfast. She's a little bit...

Joy's surgery was delayed, due to a complication with the previous patient. However she is now out and recovering well, still drowsy but able to lift her head, according to the vet nurse who rang me. (Probably wondering where her tea is!) I can ring back in about half an hour to find out when...
