They're such characters. Chewie also pulls this hilarious face when he's trying to tell us something (demand something really). He sort of lifts his top lip (but not enough to see any teeth) and puffs it out. It usually goes with little tippy tappies and a high pitched bark.

Chewie talks back. And I don't mean just barking. Little groans, grunts and squeaks. And when he's had enough of us silly hoomans a big huff and sigh.

When we finally complete our renovation (the DA has been signed off by council, finally) I'd like to have espaliered fruit trees along the back fence. My main concern is large black pests scrumping. 🙄 Like the time he ate all the alpine strawberries.

Yes, we would love a second dog but we just aren't quite there. I'm working exclusively from home now though so maybe soon. 🤣 Though I do still get the dog walker to take Chewie out when I do full days though as it's still not fair for him to sit around watching me work all day.

Walking into Rowan's room this morning and seeing this- it's a huge dinosaur encyclopaedia.

So do we. Chewie is so good at telling us what he needs and wants in his doggy way. He also understands words in context. He can hear the word "give" and not care. "Chewie" might get half a sleepy eye open but "give Chewie" gets both eyes open and ears up.

How lovely. I wish Chewie was more playful. He does love cavorting around with empty nursery pots though. The crinkly sound and unpredictable bounce brings out his inner puppy.

Chewie has really been on fire lately. We had more friends visiting from London today with their 3 year old and Chewie was lovely. He was repeatedly described as "so calm and gentle." 😱 And Rowan told the little guest "don't worry because Chewie knows not to snatch food from children!"

We took Chewie to my aunty's house for lunch today. There were 12 people there including us and two other young kids, in quite a small house. Chewie was so well behaved. Just puttered around and eventually fell asleep. Oh and got kisses from some new lady friends. 🤣

Chewie likes to quietly lie down behind you when you're chopping things or handling hot drinks...

R got to bring the preschool toy golden retriever home for the weekend and he has been so excited to do everything with him, including introducing him to Chewie and our collection of toy Labradors.
