    Poppy not eating!!!

I've been away for a week looking after my little granddaughter in Finland. On Saturday OH called me to say Poppy had diarrhea and had refused her afternoon meal. She wouldn't eat anything at all yesterday either - and most worryingly would not drink anything. I told him to try to get her to...

    Barking in his crate.

Merlin hated and loathed the crate. We persevered for 6 weeks, then gave up. He was fine in the house, just hated being locked up in the crate... However I did have Poppy as well so he wasn't completely alone. I'm sure you'll get there in the end!

    Stilton’s limping

So glad to hear about Stilton! Phew!!! They certainly know how to worry us, don't they? Merlin as a very young dog once pulled up sharp while playing in the woods and started screaming... He could hardly calm down, kept shrieking, yelling and shaking, obviously in a lot of pain, could not put...

    To neuter or not

Hi Kelsey, I don't know if you remember but I had to have Merlin castrated for medical reasons in November 2023. I would never have done it, but it was necessary as his health was severely impacted. Here is the link to the thread, in case you are interested. Now a little over a year after the...

    Breeders

So Ella is coming up to 10 years old? If you are seriously thinking about getting a puppy, I would advise doing it sooner rather than later, as a puppy can be very hard on an old dog. I did it with an old dog, and very much regretted it; I sometimes thought I had ruined his last year of life. 10...

    Joy's eyesight.

Our JRT from many, many years ago lost his sight in old age. He just followed the other dogs around the whole time! In the house and the garden he was absolutely fine, I suppose because he knew where everything was, but he became more cautious out on walks and eventually of course we had to have...

    It's a boy!! (Welcome ODIN)

I LOVE gundog training and really recommend it, no matter what you intend the outcome to be, whether you mean to work your dog, or enter competitions, or just as a way to have fun and bond together. Odin will love it, and you will love the way you grow to be a team together!
