He's doing really well. Hasn't showed signs of pain for weeks. Now he's just bored. We see the neurologist for a follow up at the end of the month.

My lovely little boy waking up this morning and saying that he thought Chewie might be a little bored with his prescribed rest and we should make him a snuffle mat for breakfast. How thoughtful! ❤️

We had a really wild storm this evening. OH was out in the very start of it, running. 🤦 He was fine and thankfully close to home. Wind, thunder, rain.

We get our hot day tomorrow, but it's 'only' getting up to 33. Will be up to 37 at my parents place. The office doesn't have aircon. 😰

We have also had some wild weather, but more in the form of short lived thunderstorms, including a very strange one at 5am yesterday that woke the whole family, except Chewie! (He has never cared about storms or fireworks, even when we lived close to the harbour and the whole house would shake)...

They should be responsible for the full amount on principle. Agree that you can donate some to a charity if you want. Maybe spend on something that helps you feel better as well?

I agree that there's no reason to speak to them so I'd just be telling them to go away if they call again and keeping a log of when they call you. They are either trying to assuage their guilt or intimidate you into not pursuing it further, neither of which is ok.

Chewie rushes to the kitchen for his Gabapentin because I stick the capsule in a blob of peanut butter! Gabapentin!

Chewie has this look on his face when his "bark pressure" is building and he wants something. He tries to hold the bark in but you can see how hard he's working on his little face. Very cute. He also has a little ceremony most mornings where he gets up, jumps off our bed, walks to the foyer...

Chewie is much better now. He's prancing around and acting bored. I'm glad the anaesthetic effects have worn off. It was so distressing seeing him so confused and anxious.

Fingers crossed the new antibiotics works quickly and effectively. Does Nelly like sardines? I feel like Chewie would sell his own mother (ahem) for sardines.

He's definitely a little brighter this morning. Still whining but able to lie down and rest in between with longer calm breaks and he isn't panting. We even got a few tail wags this morning. He is of course still very interested in food. I've temporarily raised his bowl with Rowan's bathroom...

He's back home. Very unsettled after the GA. Lots of whimpering and low ears. That can be normal after an anaesthetic right? It's awful.

The neurologist has had a look at the scans (still waiting for the radiology report) and there is a small disc herniation at c6-7, no nasty surprises. They are happy for him to come home this evening. A month of rest, short on lead walks (will stick to odd times to begin with so we don't bump...
