This is one of my favourite pics of Athena - watching telly with Tom.

    Overwhelming Pancreas Flare

Boo had only just stopped looking for Bess - she was getting quite distressed and vocalising it. She's had some dermatitis come up in the last week as well. On Saturday, Boo kept checking Athena which convinced me even more that something was wrong so I think she had a sense that she was dying...

    Overwhelming Pancreas Flare

Hi everyone. I need some help please. I mentioned in my first post that our Cane Corso had to have a splenectomy and it was confirmed she had liver cancer. Vet confirmed she was a good candidate for chemo especially as there were no tumours when they checked. Without the chemo, we could...

Thank you everyone - your kindness and understanding has helped me a lot today. I forgot to add, she did love a fir cone...

    Overwhelming Pancreas Flare

Thank you everyone. She woke me up at 5 because she was in a lot of pain - I gave her a whopper shot of Contramil and whatsapp'd our vet asking to bring her in first thing because she was struggling so much. She was shocked at how quickly Bess had deteriorated from Monday, agreed she was in a...

    Overwhelming Pancreas Flare

Thank you. I think because her stomach went back to normal I thought we had caught it early enough - she nearly died the first time she had a flare and it took weeks of intensive care by us and the vets to get her through it and that was two years ago. It was always an uphill battle from then...

    Overwhelming Pancreas Flare

I am probably on the wrong thread but I can't quite bring myself to post on Rainbow Bridge just yet. I came to MLF because my old Collie (Bess) with extensive arthritis as well as her dodgy pancreas had had an amazingly positive response to Librela - I did not think we would get her through the...

You called, I answered ! This is a group shot when we first came to Italy, so has our yellow Lab Ella at the front who passed away at the end of that year. As you can see, not the most natural of shots - it was the best I could with Tom holding treats up and 10 mins of playing a kind of...

Librela - a new option for pain relief for dogs with osteo arthritis

We noticed a huge difference from the first one - made me realise how she had gradually got worse over the last year or so. Sounds like you caught it nice and early and I bet he is feeling a whole lot better :pull:

Librela - a new option for pain relief for dogs with osteo arthritis

Thats brilliant ! Is this his first round ? We are one week into Bess's second round - I still can't get over the difference, Bess also seems so much happier (and naughtier obvs...) I am every hopeful this is available for people when my arthritis gets a hold - I think its in trials.

Librela - a new option for pain relief for dogs with osteo arthritis

@SwampDonkey How is Rory doing today ? I took Bess out for a tiny walk this morning (1km !) and she loved it - running up and down (all uneven like a clown car, just no noticeable pain). It was the OAP walk and her, Bindi and Athena particularly enjoyed breaking the ice on puddles. It was...

Librela - a new option for pain relief for dogs with osteo arthritis

Hello again @MellowYellow Thank you for sharing your experience and info. It was extra helpful that you talked about triggers because I think he has triggers too - for example, he had a seizure a couple of weeks ago. I had let him out for a wee at dawn (!) and there were wild animals near...

Librela - a new option for pain relief for dogs with osteo arthritis

Hi @Natalie, That is a very handsome pair of choc labs ! I am sorry Monty is in the midst of a flare up and I hope the flare is over soon. 8 is a lot but tbh, once we got onto dog #4, they formed a pack and became quite self maintaining. My OH is skilled with stressed / anxious / abused...

Librela - a new option for pain relief for dogs with osteo arthritis

Hello Mellow Yellow ! Can I ask when the epilepsy came on with your dog ? Rufus's major cluster seizure was in the Spring and thats when he was moved onto the new seizure management drug - the cluster lasted three or four days and the vet was very worried. One hit of the new stuff and it all...

Librela - a new option for pain relief for dogs with osteo arthritis

I didn't want to assume ! Its our vet who called out the seasonal thing - it also tends to coincide with the changing of the clocks. She has a number of epileptic dogs on her books (I am wondering even more about the Bravecto thing now..) Our vet has been clear that consistency with timing...
