Overwhelming Pancreas Flare

Heartrending to read your post and I feel deeply for you. Bess sounds as if she has been a wonderful companion and as you say, will leave a huge gap in your life. I find comfort in thinking that a dog's life is a short span compared to us, but to them it is a full span and to have lived that span with you will have been wonderful. Bess and you will be in our thoughts and hearts today.

Thank you everyone.

She woke me up at 5 because she was in a lot of pain - I gave her a whopper shot of Contramil and whatsapp'd our vet asking to bring her in first thing because she was struggling so much.

She was shocked at how quickly Bess had deteriorated from Monday, agreed she was in a lot pain and that she didn't think she would recover.

So my Best Bess is at rainbow bridge and pain free now - I hope she is running far and fast like the free spirit that she is and that we will meet again.

Our house is too quiet.

Hi @Orange, I'm very sorry for your loss.

It's a horrible feeling when you make the decision to have a beloved pet PTS - but it is better than knowing that your pet is suffering. You've made the right decision for Bess 🌈🌈🌈

So, so sorry to read this about your beautiful girl. As everyone else has said, you have done the kindest thing, but this doesn't make it any less painful. I doubt that anyone here will have read your posts dry-eyed, so yes, you did come to the right place and please continue to talk to us for as long as you want to, there will always be someone here for you. :hug:

It’s definitely the hardest part of having pets, but the kindest thing we can do when they are struggling. She’ll be finding all those huge pine cones over the rainbow bridge. 🌈
