A traumatic morning.

When I was a volunteer for the Blue Cross on their Pet Bereavement Support Service helpline , we worked mainly from study courses that we had to complete . There was a section on advice for distressed dogs , this could relate to a companion dog dying or literally any traumatic event , the advice always being to try, wherever possible to keep the routine that the dog was used to , in other words, keeping it all normal . I know from personal experience that this is hard for a loving owner but it really is the best route to take . Bless your lovely gentle girl , she will come through xxx

Oh, what an awful experience! Those scaffolders sound amazing though.

Im sure GGJ just needs a bit of time and will be back to her old self.

We have had a short walk thismorning past the place where the attack happened. Joy was frightened at first but was a brave girl and we did it with lots of praise and treats. Then a walk up to see the vet who is very pleased with her. Another week of short on lead walks, then back to the vet and if everything is still OK we should be able to start getting back to normal walking. She's now in her landing bed, normal for this time of day and when I've finished this cup of coffee I'm off to stock up on sardines! :happyfeet:

What a Good Girl! This is promising news @Candy , all sounding positive and what a brave girl (and her human  ) for revisiting the scene - probably very sensible to try it early on. Hope sardine foraging is successful!
