ADHD Coach - me!

When I was a teacher I was always very good with the ADDer children and became an Advanced Skills Teacher for behaviour, teaching other teachers throughout the district.

When I got my diagnosis of ADHD aged 50 I became fascinated and attained a post-graduate degree in Specific Learning Difficulties. When I retired as a teacher I did a couple of years coaching for the NHS (LANC). Since then I have really missed helping people directly (rather than just through the pups).

Coaches, of any kind, are very expensive. So I decided to start my own affordable online coaching (via Zoom).

I had my first two clients today and really enjoyed it. I’m setting up a Facebook page to advertise. Please like me when I pop up on your fb feed.

Sounds great Mags, I think it's really good when in retirement or semi, in my case, when you can use all that knowledge and skill to still help others in such a rewarding way.
Speaking for myself I really enjoy the level of individual attention I can give to the people that I care for at home, I'm still using all my experience but in a much less formal way, if that makes sense.

That's great, Mags. I know from personal experience that you a wonderful coach. ❤

Um, do you take people who don't have ADHD but who are just very scattered?
Thank you 😊

Yes - I said to one client who hasn’t got a diagnosis yet, but ticks all the boxes. “You might not have the diagnosis but you do have the piles - and that’s what we are here to deal with!”

When I worked for the NHS the psychiatrist and nurses dealt with the medication side of things, so that is my not my expertise. I don’t have knowledge of it either (except that it’s the opposite of what people think. The medication is a stimulant, not a ’calmer’. It stimulates the parts of the brain that are differently wired to ‘wire up’). I was prescribed medication and stuck with it for a week. I hated the side effects and hated the feeling of not being ’me’. I think 50 years of coping with severe ADDishness meant I just couldn’t cope with being normal! 🤪

PeeEss @Emily_Babbelhund - I do not coach friends or family, that way lies madness! I have a nice veneer of professionalism with clients. :giggl:
