An Absolute Pleasure

I have been walking with an elderly lovely lady in our village that I've known for years. She is looking after her son's 9 month old Golden Retriever who is an absolute pleasure to be around. He doesn't run up to people or dogs, doesn't jump up, walks to heel off lead, walks to heel on lead with no pulling, sits on a return, watches 'M' every move, constantly checking in, has brilliant recall even when he flushed a pheasant. 'A' and Hattie have had lovely walks together and we will be for the next two weeks, lucky me! :D

His owners are training him beautifully, whistle, figure of eight all kindly. Such a joy to see, he is just adorable. :)

Quite a difference from the retired couple with a 6 month old Labrador that constantly jumps up at me which I won't be too pleased about in a few months when she has grown, is in Hattie's face constantly, runs around like a lunatic. They walk with a tennis racket and ball so the poor pup is exhausted. They don't even carry a lead as they come up from the back of their house into open countryside.

Quite different training. xx

I'm jealous. I've always wanted a "real" dog like that:wink:. Enjoy your walks with this lovely pair it sounds like you and hattie will have lovely companions for the next couple of weeks. :sun:
