When Anna brought Reuben back just now, she told me about a lady owner of a dog new to the gang who was supposed to be having his first day at Playgroup today . The reason I said ` was ` is because the owner changed her mind at the last minute due only to Anna`s no food rule .
Apparently , when Anna arrived to collect the dog , the owner handed over a packed lunch for him which was refused . I remember when she first came to meet Reuben two years ago , she stated ( as she does to everyone ) that she will not give out food of any kind as it is too risky . As she rightly says , another dog may snatch and could be intolerant to that food , or it could provoke guarding , leading to possible scrapping amongst them . Anna doesnt take young pups, so all of her charges are dogs well able to last from breakfast to tea, but this particular owner had actually made up a packed lunch with a sandwich , chicken and beef, plus biscuits and a sausage roll , in case he gets hungry
and got quite iffy when told politely that this would not be allowed . She sounds a bit like Mrs. Pomfrey from All creatures great and small xx
