Another dog?

I say if you want a puppy, have a puppy @Joy. As you know I really struggled with my two initially but then loved having them both once Sky accepted Red. If you are going to do it, do it soon. Sky was definitely too old and of course she got the arthritis diagnosis at the same time unfortunately. I did find two harder work and twice the cost but twice the pleasure. I saw my son’s little cockerpoo puppy this morning - he’s a sweetie

When I had Robbie my old Lab, I had Charlie who was a Border Terrier. He was wonderful, so full of character. Being with Robbie, he thought he was a Lab too. He would bring a toy to you when you got up in the morning and never rip up his toys. A lovely dog.
Funny you should mention border terriers and labs. My rehab vet has one, Shamus. He is about a month older that Otter, so I guess about 8-9 months old now. He is just fantastic! Sits like goofy lab, wonderful personalty and really gets on well with Otter. I am smitten by them!

My three are easy, peesy. But Otter? Seriously I have no time at all for myself. That reminds me, time for her onlead walk and exercises!
Hah, I felt that when Squidge came along, too, and that was without the extra challenges you have - well, other than the fact the other two wanted to kill her, which certainly didn't help matters. Now, she's my easiest one out of the three Labs, even though she's still a lunatic, just because of her sunny disposition. There's nothing that needs "fixing" with her.

Got to admit that whilst I love pups , I am mighty glad that Reuben is no longer one  I loved him of course but being 71 years old at the time , I didnt half find it tiring , fun yes but tiring . He is fast becoming a lovely biddable dog ( still has his moments though ! ) but I certainly was not prepared for the sheer hard work in those first six months or so despite having had Labs for very many years .
Border terriers are merry little dogs , if I were ever to have another, which I wont , I would love one .

Just sneakily leaving in here again that basically Bodegueros are JRTs with a cuddle/velcro dog complex and better eyebrows. So anyone considering a JRT, pleeeease look at Bods too. There are so many great ones of all ages in rescue.

I love having two dogs, preferably one big and one little. For the little, I'd go for a chi cross or a Bod: both breeds I thought I'd NEVER get attached to and then fell in love with through fostering. Maybe Carbon will in his later years once again have a Bod friend to sit on his face and bite him in the privates - as Paul/Vizzy used to do on the daily.
