I probably only have a limited number of months to update this log, when do I have to stop calling him a puppy? I thought I would share all the things I love about him, as I do sometimes think I might come across as being a bit down on him, and I am not, really. so here are the Best Bits of Baby Bear:
He settles down close. Every time I take a bath, he comes into see me, rests his head on the bath for a bit, licks my elbows and then curls up on the floor. He never stresses that he can’t get back out the bathroom
He lies at my feet when I’m working at the dining room table and wraps himself around me keeping my feet warm.
When I’m cooking in the evening, he comes and sits with me, watching everything I’m doing, taking it all in, and is always on hand to offer a waste disposal service.
The way he looks at us - Monty does a general I’m so sad and hungry, seal pup big eyes look, but it‘s generally to get some sort of food from us. Bear often looks like he’s noticing things - weighing up options, storing information, thinking and planning. It feels a bit more like he is communicating more to us, though that just sounds silly as I type it. He knows about mirrors, TV and loves standing on the bed, front paws up on my shoulders, staring out the window.
Hi sloppy sit is hilarious. In fact it’s not even a sit, it’s a lounge or a lean. I’m not correcting it because it’s so bad it’s good.
His absolute joie de vivre at life, a new day or a new adventure.
His speed, agility and desire to chase a frisbee or tennis ball. It is for him, The Best Thing Ever.
If we are late to bed at the weekend, he will also lie in, nearly 9.30 am yesterday!
He’s not needy and will happily settle and snooze in a different room to us.
The way he sniffs, snorts hurrumphs and sighs.
His soft velvety ears, teddy bear nose, chunky little legs, huge webbed feet and feathery otter tail.
