Best Friend Freddy

I am feeling very under the weather, and OH has a cold too... luckily our nice neighbour (who often walks and babysits our dogs) was available, and is taking Poppy and Merlin out for a long hike today, with his friend and his young lab Freddie. Poppy and Merlin ADORE Freddie, who is about a year old. They are endlessly tolerant of him. Here is the meet-and-greet at our front gate, Merlin looks slightly uncomfortable but that is just because he had just walked out of his front door and been jumped on by a hugely excited Freddie...



Amazing how polite they become when treats are on offer -



Freddie is an almost-entire male... He only has one testicle! The other never descended and had to be surgically removed.

These bloomin colds/viruses - F is really poorly today. Hope yours go quickly. Unfortunately our have been coming bad going since mid December!!!

So lovely that your neighbor is prepared to take three labs for a walk! I have a tummy bug and feel too weak to walk. Fortunately my husband has taken Snowie. I don’t know who I could trust to handle him in a kind way in addition to their own dogs! I guess I’ve not had to find out.

Yes we are very lucky to have kind friends and neighbors.

I’m feeling better and worse by turns... Took to my bed for a while earlier, then felt a bit better, went out for a short walk in the winter sunshine, now feeling worse again...

Great to have such amazing neighbours @MellowYellow. We have one too; he watered our garden for the whole 7 weeks we were away and due to our water restrictions can only be done using buckets or watering cans! The same family, almost 10 years ago, looked after our first lab when my mum was suddenly admitted to hospital and Steve was visiting family overseas.

Oh, Freddy is very handsome! I always wondered with the undescended testicle thing why they never just removed that one, rather than going whole hog and totally castrating the dog. It's good to hear that they do that there
