Mine would be to have patience and a massive sense of humour ! Also , not to set expectations too high , they are babies with no manners , no sense of right or wrong , so teach them with love, kindness and patience, not expecting perfection because you wont get it ! x
Yes this. Also use the mantra ‘this will pass’ - I was told this by fellow members when I was going through my dark puppy crocopup time - it did help

Lots of great advice above as always.

Don’t forget to enjoy and cherish those first few months with your pup as they simply fly by!

Pepper’s only ten months now but those first few months seem like years ago!

Just another small thing that hasnt been mentioned yet- I would never teach shake paw again, ever.
Gosh, have I ever heard this from lots of people. It makes me feel so much better that apparently I'm incapable of teaching shake paw because I've never had a dog that could do it.

I would like to add, enjoy them every single day, because before you know it they are in their latter years. So ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY have FUN, FUN and more FUN!! Time is so precious xxx :)
Mine would be to enjoy them. Because they get big so quickly and they all come right in the end.
This is what I was thinking before reading down the thread. Not that training isn't important, but to me this is what I kept telling myself when Brogan was old - that all the puppy frustration was really just a blink of an eye. It's really hard to remember that sometimes when they are trying to eat your face, but still... even THAT time is precious. :)
