Calming Beds

Has anyone bought one of those 'calming beds' that are very fluffy and soft looking, several makes. I am wondering about getting Rourke one for winter, but am just not sure at the moment. "Bella and Toby" is one I am looking at.

Well, yes, sort of. My Mil and Sil both have one for their dogs. They look comfortable enough but Ella won't go near them when we're at the in-laws.

Of course it's entirely possible that she won't go near it because it belongs to another dog but it's funny as she almost appears to actively avoid going near it.

My Ella can be a peculiar one though 🤷😆

I was tempted by them when I got Neo’s new bed but decided against it as it was too similar in material and feel to a stuffed toy and I could see him destroying it! They look super cosy though.

I hope you don’t mind me suggesting it but maybe a memory foam type bed might suit Rourke? I only mention it as you’ve said before he sometimes struggles with his leg and he might find a soft and squidgy one difficult to get in and out of? Just a thought as I had to switch my previous girl’s bed for this reason when she started to struggle with her legs.

Thank you for your replay, I just thought a calming. bed would keep him warm at night, I do have Meg beds for him. Do you think a memory foam bed would hold the heat. Good thinking that he might find it difficult to get into a squidgy bed. I appreciate your (and everyone's) reply.

I think memory foam is pretty warm but can depend on the cover as some of them are designed to be waterproof so not as fluffy. I added a cosy blanket and you can get ones with ‘sides’ so they can snuggle in too.
