Caring for your dog during hot weather

I am sad that so many appear to not have much common sense .
Yep, so true.

But, that said I like to think I have common sense but I made a mistake once and put Cassie at risk, for which I will never forgive myself. I find the gudelines useful when considering if I can take her out and about with me, if it's going to get too hot. Walks are not a problem, I can adjust accordingly and she doesn't have a strict regime anyway.
I think to a lot of people don't realise that dogs don't regulate their body temperature in the same way we do.

Whilst all the information about not walking your dog in the hottest time of the day is mainly common sense , I am sad that so many appear to not have much common sense . I remember a lady with a very young retriever working her pup in the afternoon sun and wondering why it had collapsed with heat exhaustion , poor little love x
Also remember the feet. Even if your dog is handling the heat ok otherwise, I like to touch the ground to check if it’s too hot for dog pads. If you still have to go out, doggie shoes all the way. Plus everyone loves a dog in shoes. 😁
