Chewie has a sore shoulder

Chewie was fine for most of today, but seems to have hurt himself ?jumping off a chair in Rowan's room after dinner. He is limping and is tender over his right shoulder. Hopefully just a pulled muscle. Poor little thing keeps looking at me with these big eyes 'Muuum, fix it."

I hate when they're out of sorts. OH was complaining that I don't care about his shin splints...

He seems brighter this morning. OH took him for a sniff around our street and he has been able to lie down in one place comfortably this morning. I've not heard any whining or squeaking. Fingers crossed he's better by tomorrow. One of us is around most of the day today and tomorrow so we can see how he goes.

Something about Chewies symptoms wasn't sitting right with us and we took him to the vet. On examination they think the problem is likely to be in his neck- probably a disc issue. He's been given some anti-inflammatory and he's on house arrest for a few weeks. Poor little chap.

Seems extra cruel because he's a perfect weight and by nature quite cautious. Just had luck I guess.

He's a bit happier after his first dose of NSAID. Actually hovered while I was making dinner. And went to sit in the garden with Rowan, who is the only human he actively wants to be with at the moment. Even though he's the most likely human to cause (unintentional) injury...

Thankfully someone can be home with him every day at least for a wee break. Thursdays are our hardest day but I can still pop home at lunch and let him out, give him a meal and his meds.
