Clumpy fur

Maxx has some small clumps of fur coming out around his legs. It's not usual for him and I wonder if it is something to do with the furminator I bought recently. I was paranoid to use it badly so all I do is about 5-10 gentle strokes around his back and sides and top of his legs while giving him treats every day or second day. It doesn't seem to bother him in the least. But has made an amazing difference to the daily apocalypse of fur I have to clean up every day

Otherwise he is not scratching or showing any unusual signs. Just happy and bouncy and naughty as always

Chewie gets tufts like this on his pantaloons too. They are clumps of dead undercoat in his case and just fall out... We are in the midst of the late autumn shed-a-thon.

Ella gets tufts too. They show up a lot on the brown fur.

The furminator definitely loosens them and saves our floors a bit

One year, Shads got a bit carried away and was almost naked by the time he finished - just in time for the winter. He’s such a dick, even with his moulting

Ariel tufts all over, especially after a good brushing. She’s shedding and tufting like crazy lately!

Joy also gets tufts, usually during Spring and Autumn moults. I deal with most of it using a furminator/biscuit combination in the garden, but those tufts are just SO satisfactory to pull out by hand!
Pee Ess, GGJ doesn't seem to mind in the slightest.

Sometimes I think Chewie has a triple coat. For a small Lab he sheds an extraordinary amount. He has a beautiful thick raincoat on his back too. (Still won't walk in the rain though)

Poor Carbon never has hardly anything to pull as I'm constantly de-tufting him while he sits next to me on the sofa. Drives me insane when I see dogs out and about with big old tufts on them. I want to chase after them and PUUUUUULLLL!

Sleek & shiny Meg has a tuft the other day. She was mortified! Her coat is "jus purfekt dowent yoo nowe"?. Very satisfying to pull it out though.
