Confused….back end

Vets think it might be her anal gland on the left as was solid. We have to give her metacam for 4-5 days and see if she stops. If she doesn’t we have to go back next week. The good news is that she has lost weight so is down to 31kg from 33kg. We are going in the right direction 😊
Poor girl, must be really uncomfortable, I would try a little massage (follow @M.F. instructions)

Did the vet attempt to express the anal glands? It may be infected.
They vet did attempt to express it and got a bit out. She said there wasn’t any sign of infection which was good. She’s never had an issue with anal glands before, so it is a bit strange! I will give her the metacam and see how she gets on over the next few days. Thanks @M.F. I will try in a few days if she’s the same.

So, the saga continues. Harley is still spinning up to 10-15 times a day trying to get to something. The metacam hasn’t helped at all. Her stoools are normal, she’s eating and drinking fine. She’s clearly agitated by something though. The vet wants to see her in the morning and we have to take her with no breakfast as they may need to sedate her and to be able to examine her fully. I’ve brushed her all over and massaged everything and can’t feel anything. She has a very large lump in her tummy that hangs down. It’s a fatty lump that has shrunk as she’s list weight, but hangs a lot. I don’t think it’s this, but I’m really not sure anymore.
Im hesitant at getting her sedated as she fights it and really dislikes the vets. I’m torn at what to do. What would you do?

I would definitely take her, she cannot be happy with the spinning, something irritating or painful must be causing it. Does the vet give the sedative via injection? Does she fight having the injection or is it the effect? Maybe she could be sedated by pills instead and you sit with her it takes effect.

Thanks all. I am going to take her as I agree that I need to get to the bottom of this.
@Jelinga she fights the effect. She will happily have injections, but dislikes being sedated and fights it all the way. Last time it took her 2 injections and over 30 mins before she gave in. I always have her on my lap trying to reassure her unlike it takes effect. I will let you all know how she gets on.

Poor Harley, but I agree that it's worth it to get to the bottom of things. It's great that they let you stay with her while she's sedated!
