Death of a toy !

The dogs have a toy box , thankfully they dont destroy them very often but I have been keeping one item in the greenhouse for safe keeping , I thought When Carbon visits , he goes straight for the fluffy chicken which I fetch out of said greenhouse for him, he adores it . However , we have had visitations in there, mice have decided it is a great place to live and yesterday , whilst loading up tubs of garden waste for the tip , I noticed poor chicken well nibbled and covered in mouse Sadly he has had to be sent to the tip alongside my gardening gloves which have suffered the same fate , so sorry Carbon xxxx

Oh no, this is a catastrophe! I can’t bear to tell Carbón, so somewhere along our travels I will have to find a new chicken to give to Reuben. He will know the difference, but hopefully Carbón will remain clueless . I don’t think he could stand the grief and then I’d have a very sad Señor indeed.

I’m sorry your gardening gloves also became mouse victims .

I've never had mouse problems in 19 years of living here, but boy have they made up for it this year! Visitations indeed, I found what I thought were conkers on my lawn, but we have no chestnut trees. Little blighters have got my tulip bulbs

We still have the little stable rug from my daughters first pony -- that is sancrosanct and I have had to bring it inside for safe keeping!

You really didn’t need to do that, Kate - but it was very sweet of you. I hope Reuben loves his chickens too if he’s going to have TWO of them. . Maybe he could get one extra drenched in Reuben slobber so it smells just right by January.
